This listing is for one (1) Kansas "pop rock."
These are stock photos in which you will be hand selected a stone.
You will receive a stone that is similar to the ones pictured.
Average dimensions: 1" - 1.25" (dimensions vary slightly; each stone is unique).
These are also known as Boji stones; mined in the state of Kansas. They started out as fossils from the Cretaceous period, around 80 million years ago. Over time, bony material was replaced by pyrite. Sometimes you can see the original fossil embedded in the rock.
Word has it that the name "pop rock" was given to the stone because someone threw one into a fire and it exploded like a firework.
